ICONZ Wired Country Troubleshooting Guide

You will need to bypass your router to ensure this device is not causing the connection problems you are experiencing.

To do this, you will need to plug your Wired Country device directly into your computer.

Please locate the cable that links your router to your Wired Country device, remove this from your router, and plug it directly into your computer (you'll need to remove the cable connecting your computer to your router)

Once this is done, on your computer, click Start and open the control panel

From the control panel, open Network Connections

From network connections, click Create a new connection.

This will open the New Connection Wizard.

Click next on the wizard to continue.

Select Connect to the internet and click next.

Select Set up my connection manually and click next

Select Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password and click next.

Type ICONZ as your ISP name, and click next

Type in your Wired Country username and password. Your username will be in the following format: username@wiredc.iconz.co.nz

NOTE: If you do not know your username and password details, please call the ICONZ helpdesk on 0800 THE NET (843 638)

Once you have entered these details, click next.

Click Finish to create the connection.

You should be presented with a window similar to the following:

Click connect.

Once this has connected, check to see if you can access the internet. If you can, there is likely to be a problem with your router.
