Make sure your incoming mail server is set to a POP3 server. If it's not, you'll need to recreate the account.

For the "incoming" and "outgoing" server fields, make sure the appropriate server names are entered, as described below:

For @iconz.co.nz email addresses:

Incoming (POP3) server: mail.iconz.co.nz
Outgoing (SMTP) server: mail.iconz.co.nz

For @internet.co.nz email addresses:

Incoming (POP3) server: mail.internet.co.nz
Outgoing (SMTP) server: mail.internet.co.nz

For @ezysurf.co.nz AND @e3.co.nz email addresses:

Incoming (POP3) server: mail.visp.co.nz
Outgoing (SMTP) server: mail.visp.co.nz

Please Note If your internet connection is with a different provider, you will need to use their outgoing mail server.

Make sure your Username (Account Name) and Password are set correctly. You won't be able to see your password obviously, so it's a good idea to re-enter it, just to be sure that it's correct.

If you have forgotten or lost your username or password, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 0800 843 638 and we'll be happy to help.

Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) should be unticked

My server requires authentication should be unticked.

Once you've checked all of the above, click the Connection tab.

Make sure the correct internet connection is selected. If your mail account is trying to connect using a dial-up connection for instance, but you've switched to broadband, you're likely to have a few issues.

Once you've confirmed your mail account is using the correct internet connection, click the Advanced tab.

Under Server Port Numbers, Outgoing mail (SMTP) should be set to 25, and Incoming mail (POP3) should be set to 110. Both check boxes that read This server erquires a secure connection (SSL) should be unticked.

Server Timeouts are the length of time your mail program will wait for a response from the ICONZ mail server. By default this is set to 1 minute, but if you are trying to retrieve a large message on a dial-up connection, it can be useful to set increase this to the maximum of 5 minutes.

Leave a copy of messages on server should be unticked. Leaving message on the ICONZ mail server can cause complications over time, and is not recommended

Once you've checked all of the above settings, click OK, then Close to return to the main Outlook Express screen.
