The VERSA Backup Suite "Base Service" is ideal for customers that require an "on demand" backup facility to their virtual servers. The Base Service provide a full snapshot "point in time" of the virtual server instance.

The Base Service enables you to perform full or partial restoration from your Virtual Machine from the daily snapshot "recovery point" should disaster strike. Backups on the Base Service are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

Please note: The Base Service utilises our backup proxy server which has extensive usable disk space that can be employed to temporarily retrieve backups over a 24-hour period. This is overwritten each day; therefore, customers looking for recovery times over and above a 24-hour period must select from one of our Onsite Retention plans.

An Onsite Retention Policy can be purchased in addition to the Base Service and provides 8, 15 or 31 days of full backups (retention).

All backup data is hosted on equipment that is separate from the VERSA platform to maintain dependency and redundancy.

Based on the retention policy selected (Onsite8, Onsite15 or Onsite31), ICONZ will hold your data for a (8, 15 or 31-day) period, after which time the data will be overwritten with the next client retention schedule. The process to restore data during the (8, 15 or 31-day) retention policy period will be initiated shortly after the customer places a priority call to the ICONZ Customer Care Centre.

Should you require access to data that is outside the retention policy period, the ICONZ Offsite tape rotation policy should be considered

For greater peace of mind, you can add an Offsite tape rotation schedule to your plan. Customer backups (against the Onsite Retention Policy nominated) are written to tape on a daily basis (working days, only unless specified under a customised and agreed SLA) and stored off site at a secure data vault facility in Auckland.

ICONZ provides comprehensive administrative services to support an enterprise hosting environment. ICONZ managed services are designed to take care of your server maintenance and management hassles leaving you to focus on your business.

• Support for Debian Linux, Redhat Linux, and all current Windows Server 2003 operating systems
• Support for selected applications (apache, Exim, IIS, MSSQL etc)
• Regular checks of OS and Application patch and/or security levels. Upgrades applied where required.
• Regular checks of routine OS log files for problems, errors, etc
• Windows Service Pack installations
• Linux Distribution upgrades (Debian only)

All patches, services packs and the like are applied during normal business hours with system restarts scheduled for after hours. All checks and patches applied on the first Monday of a given month. Customers will be notified via email when patching has occurred and what time system restarts have been scheduled for.

Customers must advise ICONZ four working days prior to the regular patching date should they wish to arrange another time. Please note this is provided on an “as needed basis” and will not replace the regular schedule.

• Status monitoring of IP availability of routers, switches and servers with a defined escalation procedure
• Monitoring the health of select applications (web services, mail services, etc)
• Monitoring of any other service that will respond to a TCP connection
• Check if an NT service or process is running
• Check the available disk space on a server
• Retrieve a URL
• Check your database engine
• Check specific text within the site (this allows for notification of any defacement within the site)
• Contact the person or persons provided by the customer during the escalation hours defined by the customer, within 5 minutes of the first alert appearing on the Nagios monitoring system.

ICONZ will set up FTP access to dedicated storage space. You are responsible for backing up your data via FTP, as well as data verification and retrieval.

Please note - In the event that you have purchased backup space:

• Backup space is provided on the basis of storage space on the backup server only. Performance of backups is the customer's responsibility.
  1. ICONZ makes no guarantee than any individual backup attempt will succeed, nor that any restoration attempt will succeed.
  2. ICONZ makes no guarantee regarding the performance or uptime of the backup server.
  3. ICONZ reserves the right to require the customer to vary the time of backup processes for operational purposes.

If vulnerabilities exist, the penetration test will find them and provide you with a report including detailed information on each risk - including its severity, associated threat and potential impact. The report will even provide you with links for you to source further information about the vulnerability and any available remedial actions you can take.

ICONZ Insure is a package which will allow you to purchase one off 10GB data blocks that will put an end to unexpected excess data charges.

If your website is listed on Google, Windows live search, other web listings or publications this could cause an unexpected increase in the number of people visiting your site resulting in you exceeding your allocated data plan.

As an example, let’s say you have a plan with an allocation of 10GB of data per month, costing you let’s say $250.00 per month; you would normally be charged 5c/MB for any megabyte of data used over your normal 10GB data allocation. If you unexpectedly exceeded your 10GB data plan and used say 15GB in a month you would be expected to pay $256.00 based on 5c/MB charge.

With ICONZ Insure you can request additional 10GB block of data and only pay $50.00 extra instead of a per MB usage.

ICONZ understands that different customers have different requirements. As a result ICONZ offers customers the options of a no month, 12, 24 and 36 month contract term. Please note a customer that selects a 12, 24 or 36 month term contract must serve that period. An early termination fee will be applicable for customers who wish to terminate their contract early.
