Eliminating the need for backup windows, it offers replication-based disk to disk and disk to tape technology. Taking advantage of the ICONZ VERSA EVA SAN array, the suite backups by performing a copy of all production data hosted on the ICONZ VERSA platform. Utilising HP’s industry leading ‘Data Protector’ solution, customers can choose the level of retention policy that is best for their business and their budget.

Components

base service

The VERSA Backup Suite Base Service is ideal for customers that require anon demand backup facility for their virtual servers. This includes on-disk 24 hour backup facilities which provide a full daily snapshot point in time of the virtual server instance. Customers are then able to perform full or partial restoration of their Virtual Machine from the daily snapshot recovery point should disaster strike.

Backups on the Base Service are managed and monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

ONSITE STORAGE POLICIES

In addition to the Base Service, the Onsite Storage Policies are available offering 8,15 and 31 day retention cycles. All client backup data is hosted on equipment that is separate from the VERSA platform to maintain dependency and redundancy.

The recovery process is easily initiated by a call to the ICONZ Customer Care Team.

OFFSITE STORAGE

For greater peace of mind, customers have the option to add Offsite Storage (outsourced to Plan-b, New Zealand’s leading business continuity company) to their VERSA Backup Suite. Customer backups, as per their Onsite Storage Policy, are written to tape on a daily basis and stored offsite.

Acting on customer instructions ICONZ will recover the stored tape library from Plan-b’s offsite facility and restore the snapshot as required.
